Military time chart
Military time counts the day from 0000 (midnight) to 2359. AM hours keep their number with a leading zero; PM hours add twelve. Each row links to a page for that hour with every five-minute mark converted.

The rules in one place
- No colon, four digits, leading zero. 6:05 AM is 0605, not 6:05 or 605.
- PM adds twelve. 1:00 PM is 1300, 11:59 PM is 2359. To go back, subtract twelve from anything 1300 or above.
- Midnight is 0000. Some schedules write 2400 for the end of a day; both mean the same moment.
- Say the hour as hundreds. 0600 is "zero six hundred", 1400 is "fourteen hundred". With minutes, say both numbers: 1430 is "fourteen thirty", 0805 is "zero eight zero five".
- Minutes do not change. There is no conversion for the minutes; only the hour moves.
The clock with seconds and every alarm on this site switch to 24-hour display with the 24h button in the header, which shows the same numbers with a colon. To be woken at a military time, open the hour page above and press Set an alarm, or use the online alarm clock.
Questions
Will the alarm ring if I close the tab or the laptop?
No. No website can ring after the browser is closed or the computer sleeps. Keep this tab open, plug in, and the clock keeps the screen awake for you. The Ready-to-ring check under the clock shows what is set up correctly.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes on Android while the tab is open (behind other tabs is fine). On iPhone the page must stay in the foreground because Safari does not let web pages play sound from the background. Add it to the Home Screen for a full-screen bedside clock.
Is it loud enough for heavy sleepers?
Pick Loud buzzer or Siren, set the volume slider to full, and switch on the sums-to-stop option in Settings so the alarm cannot be dismissed half asleep. The sunrise light brightens the screen before the alarm too.
Can I use my own sound?
Yes. In Settings, choose an MP3, WAV or OGG file. It is stored in this browser only and never uploaded. There are also 60 built-in sounds, from a twin-bell alarm clock and a rooster to an air horn and a music box, on the sounds page.
What do the sleep sounds do?
Rain, brown noise, white noise, fan and ocean are generated in the browser and play until the alarm, then fade out as it rings. They keep the tab active through the night.
Does it need an internet connection?
Only to load the page the first time. Alarms, sounds, the sleep calculator and the sunrise math all run on your device, and the page works offline once it has been opened.
Is anything stored or sent?
Alarms and settings are saved in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no account.
How do I convert military time to regular time?
For 0000 to 1259, read it as the 12-hour time with a colon: 0930 is 9:30 AM, 1215 is 12:15 PM. For 1300 to 2359, subtract 12 from the hour and add PM: 1430 is 2:30 PM, 2200 is 10:00 PM. Midnight is 0000 (sometimes written 2400 at the end of a day).
How do I convert regular time to military time?
AM times keep their hour with a leading zero and no colon: 6:45 AM becomes 0645. PM times add 12 to the hour: 3:20 PM becomes 1520. 12:00 AM (midnight) is 0000 and 12:00 PM (noon) is 1200.
Is military time the same as the 24-hour clock?
Yes in the numbers. The differences are style: military time drops the colon (1430, not 14:30), keeps the leading zero (0600) and is spoken as 'fourteen thirty' or 'zero six hundred'. Hospitals, airlines, railways and most of the world use the same 24-hour numbers with a colon.
What are military minutes?
The same as ordinary minutes. Only the hours change; 1445 is 2:45 PM, not a decimal fraction of an hour. Some payroll systems use decimal hours (14.75), which is a different thing.
Does the clock on this page use my time zone?
Yes. The live time and the alarm buttons run in your browser on your device's clock. Nothing is sent anywhere.
