What time should I wake up for a 10:00 AM flight?
For a domestic 10:00 AM departure, wake up around 6:15 AM and leave home by 7:15 AM; for international, wake at 5:15 AM. Adjust the numbers below for your airport and set the alarms in one tap.
Typical timeline for a 10:00 AM flight
Assumes 45 minutes to the airport, an hour to get ready, no checked bags, and five sleep cycles. The planner above recalculates for your own numbers.
| Step | Domestic | International |
|---|---|---|
| Go to bed (5 sleep cycles) | 10:31 PM | 9:31 PM |
| Wake up | 6:15 AM | 5:15 AM |
| Leave home | 7:15 AM | 6:15 AM |
| Arrive at the airport | 8:00 AM | 7:00 AM |
| Bag drop closes | 9:15 AM | 9:00 AM |
| Boarding | 9:30 AM | 9:15 AM |
| Departure | 10:00 AM | 10:00 AM |
Getting up for a 10:00 AM flight
This wake-up falls inside normal hours, so the main risk is underestimating the trip to the airport. Check the route at the time of day you will actually travel; rush-hour traffic can add half an hour.
Set the alarms from the planner so the wake-up and leave-home alarms fire on the right date only, with the backup notification on. Add a second alarm on your phone: a flight is the one morning where redundancy is worth it.

Questions
Will the alarm ring if I close the tab or the laptop?
No. No website can ring after the browser is closed or the computer sleeps. Keep this tab open, plug in, and the clock keeps the screen awake for you. The Ready-to-ring check under the clock shows what is set up correctly.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes on Android while the tab is open (behind other tabs is fine). On iPhone the page must stay in the foreground because Safari does not let web pages play sound from the background. Add it to the Home Screen for a full-screen bedside clock.
Is it loud enough for heavy sleepers?
Pick Loud buzzer or Siren, set the volume slider to full, and switch on the sums-to-stop option in Settings so the alarm cannot be dismissed half asleep. The sunrise light brightens the screen before the alarm too.
Can I use my own sound?
Yes. In Settings, choose an MP3, WAV or OGG file. It is stored in this browser only and never uploaded. There are also 60 built-in sounds, from a twin-bell alarm clock and a rooster to an air horn and a music box, on the sounds page.
What do the sleep sounds do?
Rain, brown noise, white noise, fan and ocean are generated in the browser and play until the alarm, then fade out as it rings. They keep the tab active through the night.
Does it need an internet connection?
Only to load the page the first time. Alarms, sounds, the sleep calculator and the sunrise math all run on your device, and the page works offline once it has been opened.
Is anything stored or sent?
Alarms and settings are saved in your browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to a server, and there is no account.
How early should I get to the airport?
Two hours before a domestic departure and three before an international one is the usual airline guidance, and it is what the planner assumes. At a small airport with no bags you can trim it; at a large hub on a holiday weekend, add 30 minutes.
Why does the planner give me a bedtime?
Because the wake-up time is the only part you cannot move, the bedtime is the variable. It is counted back from the wake-up alarm in 90-minute sleep cycles plus the 14 minutes an average adult takes to fall asleep, so you wake at the end of a cycle instead of in the middle of one.
Will the alarm ring if my browser is closed?
The full alarm rings while the tab is open. With the backup notification switched on, our server also sends a notification at each alarm time even if the browser is closed, on Android, on desktop while the browser runs in the background, and on iPhone when the site is added to the Home Screen. For a flight, keep your phone's own alarm as a second backup.
